It’s bad. He’s on heart meds. We were told that we were lucky he’s lived so long. He’s only 10.

my sister’s is 13 (I think) and medication has slowed progression, but unfortunately almost all of them are susceptible to it.

Cute collection of dogs. While ours definitely has a personality, he’s more of a foot warmer than a dog to play with. Sure, he’ll chase a laser pointer until he drops and he might even fetch a ball a few times, but take him outside and he ends up with a big pile of mats. The only way to prevent it is to shave him. We’ve been told by a reputable breeder that getting 7 to 10 years out of a King Charles is a good run.
I much prefer a lab. They’ll play til they drop, love to fetch, love to run, but are content lying beside you as you work. They’re like a good truck - you can run them all day through the mud and all you have to do is hose them off and they’re good to go.
